World Map

Vitreous glass tile on wooden table (42" x 21" approx.)

I used an old coffee table as the surface for this mosaic. I wanted to make the map look like an old-fashioned map by using pastels and browns, but I could not find the colors I wanted. That turned out to be a good thing. Had I been able to find the colors I wanted, it would have been very difficult to discern the continents.

Portrait 3

Acrylic on canvas board (8"x10")

I wanted to paint a portrait using non-skin colors. I didn't intend to paint the Incredible Hulk. This was painted 1 week prior to the release of the film, Hulk. Maybe my color selection was subconsciously influenced since a person can hardly do anything without seeing some sort of advertisement for the movie.

Pinata of Mass (Dental) Destruction

Papier-mache (18" approx.)

This is a George W. Bush that everyone can like. It's a hit in even the most die-hard of Democrat homes. It was my first piñata so I don't know if I did it correctly. I never had a piñata as a child, nor did I ever attend a party where there was one.
